Apex primary school sports day 2008

On a glorious summers day, Apex Primary School held their annual sports day. Pupils of the Barking and Ilford based school participated in a day of colour and competition.

Activities included relays, sprints, as well as the traditional egg and spoon, sack and water jug races.

Honours were close, but the schools Orange team were the victors, who beat the 2nd place brown team by 9 points.

Knights of the roads - A lesson in roadside manner

As my pic illustrates, this is very much a case of "you do as we tell you, not as we do, cause you ain't got a prayer!"

These morons wouldn't blink at the prospect of lifting and towing your motor (with your Granny inside) to the nearest pound, to impound or crush.

Yet how's this for an example of blatant flouting of the exact roadside conduct these knights of the motorways seek to address.

This is Cable Street, E1, where the road itself is the width of a tight country lane. Then there's the double yellow's and the ahem, cycle lanes. to be fair, the poor famished lambs could have stopped in the middle of the road to grab their bacon butties from the nearby cafe, so pats on the back all round for having the courtesy for not doing so...
