World exclusive - Man City sign Rolando

Own up Sven. Was it a publicity stunt to go one up on your rivals?

Is that a typo on the title? Not since Denis Law donned the famous Sky Blue shirt has there been so much excited anticipation. Rumours from the Terry Christian Man City benevolent Fund headquarters abound that Sven has just pulled off a big name foreign signing. Conflicting rumours are also speading that our favourite Swede made a huge mistake and that he actually asked the money men to check Ronaldo's availability. Yes, the Brazilian superstar and all round darling of masses around the world and possibly the Portugese maestro down the road as well.

What he ended up with was Rolando Bianchi. The Italian hitman was the fourth best striker in Serie A last season as his 18 goals helped secure top flight football for Reggina. Bianchi now has an oustanding opportunity to fill the illustrious boots of City greats; Georgios Samaras and Bernado Corradi. If he fails to impress then Sven's big name foreign signing will quickly turn into the (flop) foreign signing with a big name.

Terry, King, Ferdinand and Carragher must be quaking in their boots at the thought of Bianchi and his prospective partnership with the irrepressible Marlon Harewood.

Happy days are here. Roll on the Premiership.
