Desert Foxes tame Lions– England 0-0 Algeria

From the habitual slow starters
Fans sought a three point gift
Desert Foxes tamed Lions
England lying somewhat adrift

Capello’s men laboured at Green Point
Within their own Cape Fear
Muffled by Bougherra and co
In a game of very little cheer

Selfless Heskey toiled away
Stevie G strived hard to ignite
Yebda was more than a thorn
Karim Ziani just ran all night

Added snub for inventive Joe Cole
Whereas Rooney ran out of puff
Lionheart Carra out of the next
Nil, nil not quite enough

Homecoming of the lynchpin
Barry returned to shield
His languid teammates heaved
Roundly booed off the field

Treated to a glimpse of Wayne’s world
Response to the fans poor review
Roo snapped at the camera
“It's nice to see your home fans booing you"

Belhadj had spelt out the target
"Defence is England's weak point"
David James between the sticks
Keeper M'Bolhi didn’t disappoint

“Goals” said skipper Gerrard
Crucial to be home and dry
Not the England he knew said the Gaffer
Beat Slovenia or wave goodbye

Worse still as security breached
Slipping past stadium checks
English fan in the changing room
To confront and say hi to Becks
