Liverpool - Charlie Adam is a fantastic addition

Charlie Adam passed his medical at Liverpool today and is poised to complete a £7m move, so completing a long, drawn-out transfer saga stretching back to January.

Adam’s array of midfield skills, and knack for scoring goals, will be invaluable to Kenny Dalglish as he continues to assemble a squad capable of challenging for the Barclays Premier League title.
Here are a few facts about Liverpool's latest star signing:-
-Liverpool’s new recruit is a product of both the Dundee and Rangers youth systems.
-His football role models include ex Rangers skipper Barry Ferguson, and Clarence Seedorf.
-Adam hails from a football family. His Father Charles played amongst others for Dundee United and Partick Thistle during the 80s and 90s, and his brother Grant is third choice stopper at Rangers.
-After being farmed out to St Mirren in 2005/06, Adam starred at Love Street as the Saints won both the First Division title & Scottish Challenge Cup.
-Paul Le Guen gave the Dundee born midfielder his Rangers break in 2006-07. Adam repaid the faith by scoring 14 goals and winning the Scottish young player of the year award.
-He was a member of Walter Smith's Rangers squad that lost the UEFA Cup Final to Zenit Peterburg in 2008.
 
-Adam joined the Tangerines in October 2009. when Ian Holloway broke the club record to sign him for Rangers for £500.000.
-Adam scored 12 goals for Blackpool last season – all fired in with his trusty left foot.
-Other teams interested in signing Adam were Manchester United, Everton and Aston Villa
-Adam will face stiff competition at Anfield with Steven Gerrard, Alberto Aquilani, Jordan Henderson, Lucas Leiva, Raul Meireles, Christian Poulsen, and Jay Spearing all competing for midfield places.
-Alex McLeish gave Adam his Scotland debut against Austria in 2007.
