Remembering Srebrenica

Today we are reminded yet again what happened on the 11th of July 1995, whereby more than 8,000 Bosniak Muslim men and boys in Srebrenica were slaughtered mercilessly.

Srebrenica was a UN-protected "safe area" but that did not prevent the massacre, even though 400 armed Dutch 'peacekeepers' were present at the time.

The Srebrenica massacre is the largest mass murder in Europe since World WII.

The European Union has proclaimed 11th July as a day of Remembrance of the Srebrenica Genocide.
