Men turn the heating up at home so they can wear less clothes

One in four men crank the heating up at home just so they can wear a t-shirt all year round, according to research from Worcester, Bosch Group.

In contrast, women are more likely to warm themselves up in other ways, with 63% opting to put another layer of clothes on before turning the heating up to a higher temperature.

Survey of 1,000 18 - 55 year olds:
• 75% of people in the East Midlands wear more clothes to keep warm rather than increasing the thermostat

• People in the West Midlands were the worst, with 1/3 admitting to boosting their central heating right up in order to keep their home as toasty as possible

• Londoners are most intent on doing as much as they can to keep their bills as low as possible, with a huge 70% saying they were actively looking at ways of being more energy efficient in the home

• The majority of all those surveyed (88%) said that they would consider being more energy efficient in the home, if there was a financial incentive.
