The pothole gardener at Milan Design Week‏

Emdad Rahman: Green fingered Steve Wheen has been very busy recently. Commissioned by Lancia, the famed pothole gardener recently travelled to Milan to create a series of installations for the opening of Milan Design Week.

Wheen created 14 gardens which included;

- A fashion garden (with heels of course).
- A music garden (to celebrate the famous Italian composers)
- A mini-art-exhibition garden (to celebrate the wonderful Italian artists)
- A light bulb garden (symbolising the conception of an idea)

He said: “I wasn't sure how my little gardens were going to go down in Milan, and indeed I was quite nervous.

“However, I needn't have been as crowds of people stopped to look at the gardens. One of the favourites was the music garden complete with a lamp, music books and a piano.”
