UWT at Sainsbury's Whitechapel

Today I'm here with the amazing UWT team who are taking part in a Sainsbury's Whitechapel fundraiser.

Volunteers will be at Sansbury's Whitechapel to raise money for Syria till 11 pm today.

There will be:

• Bucket Collections
• Bag Packing For Charity
• UWT Stall & Goodies
• New Clothing Bank & More

Location:

Sainsbury's (Whitechapel)
1 Cambridge Heath Road, London
E1 5SD

80,000 people go through the doors at Sainsbury's Whitechapel every week and I spoke to deputy manager Amjad who said that Sainsbury's were happy to support local community charities.

"I've been really impressed with the way the volunteers have gone about their business and were really pleased to lend our support," he said.

"A lot of our Whitechapel team are local and were all really pleased to be a part of local community initiatives that do their but to improve the lives of those less fortunate."

Abdul Mukith from UWT said: "were very grateful to Sainsbury's for their support. Their generosity has led to similar offers from big organisations and we wish them greater success with their future business ventures.

"I've just returned from Syria and the lives of the people affected is indescribable."

Please pop along and donate. Do speak to volunteers to listen to first hand experiences of the tragic humanitarian situation in Syria.

You may also bring along unwanted clothes and deposit it at the UWT clothing bank in the Sainsbury's car park level 1.
