Dementia Friendly Awards 2015

The Dementia Friendly Awards in London showcased the wonderful work people across the UK have been doing over the past 12 months to create dementia-friendly communities and improve the lives of people living with dementia and their carers.

It was a very nice affair and the food was excellent. I particularly enjoyed chatting to Keith Oliver, an Ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society. Keith was a head teacher for 16 years during a successful teaching career. He spearheaded the publication of a book called ‘Welcome to our World,’ which is a collection of life writing by people living with Dementia.
