The Corona Chronicles - Hedgecock Community Centre Foodbank bought forward to help the battle against Covid-19

I’m pleased to announce the launch of the Barking Hedgecock Centre Foodbank, which is a community enterprise project we have been planning to launch for a while but now forced to bring forward due to the massive global coronavirus crisis which is ravishing our communities.

Today we’ve stocked up and tomorrow distribution begins in Barking & Dagenham.

We are open to supporting groups which are providing similar services to residents who are affected.

We face many challenges with this level of distribution so are having to be creative and keep the numbers of our volunteers small to maintain some distance and contact.

Tomorrow we will be preparing food packs which include rice, oil, salt, cakes, pastries, juice, tea, coffee, pasta, chick peas etc.

If you would like to self refer yourself or refer someone in need then please message me and we will endeavour to do our best to provide deliveries.

This is a self funded project and if anyone wishes to donate food then please contact me and I will provide a time slot for drop offs along with an item list.
