The Corona Chronicles - Booked by the local Polizia!

As part of the East End Covid-19 Support Network we had two drops today, in Barking & Dagenham and four in Tower Hamlets, to isolating residents. I did my shift during my working from home lunch break along with one prescription drop off.

To confound it all I think hay fever season is starting. I usually have one bad day and then I’m fine.

Despite that I really enjoyed the cycle and stopped off momentarily at the empty Ripple Road Wild Garden to take a picture.

In the route back I was able to fill up my rucksack with shopping and three packs of multi compost which I balanced rather impressively on my handlebar as I travelled back home.

Well, the family were impressed anyway.

I felt quite proud when I overheard a Police officer stood behind me in the Tesco Local shop queue in Barking Town Centre tell his colleague, “That’s that bookbike chap!” I gave them a cheesy grin and replied, “guilty as charged officer.”

You could say I was booked!

Thanks to the Old Bill I’m probably going to receive a consignment of books to distribute once this is all over.

Hope you’re all keeping well.
