The Corona Chronicles - Covid testing comes to Barking!

One drop of yoghurt for one sweet toothed 86 year old!

Out cycling to deliver foodpacks at lunch I noticed one of London’s mobile units is based at Barking Hospital today for key workers wishing to be tested for Covid-19.

The drive through queues have been massive leading out of Barking Hospital and past our Foodbank. Luckily I had some stock which I could distribute today.

These are people who work in essential services which are helping keep the country running (eg postal services, utility, transport sectors, voluntary support staff, financial services, staff providing child care for key workers), as well as those supporting the health and wellbeing of the community (eg funeral directors, refuse collectors, medical, energy, utility, transport and food supplies, including retail and supermarkets).

The test is effective if you are displaying symptoms or have been within the past 5 days. The national testing programme is open to all NHS and care staff including for example those who have had members of their household or a patient displaying symptoms).
