It’s been a rainy and slightly windy day today. I only had one medical drop today for an elderly person and timed the trip to perfection to avoid the drizzle. I did cycle through Barking Park and stopped to admire my surroundings for a few minutes.
We got a call from Sindy who had a few hundred yoghurt pots available for us. Naturally, we jumped on the offer and took a whole load for distribution this evening at the Hedgecock Community Centre Foodbank.

Thanks pal! We are very under resourced in Barking & Dagenham and these opportunities are just too good to turn down.
So we got in some of the lads to do local drops and saved the biggest delivery for homeless families at Brocklebank Lodge.
There were many nods of approval from the residents.
Volunteers at the HCC Foodbank are keeping an eye on rough sleepers and homeless friends living in hostels.
The sad reality is the Coronavirus pandemic probably isn’t the single most traumatic experience in the lives of homeless friends.
