I’m proud that former Barking & Dagenham Mayor, Chair of Assembly and Chair of the Labour Group, Councillor Elizabeth Kangethe is helping the #hccfoodbank with deliveries.
It was very nice cycling out and dropping her #foodpacks to be distributed within her diverse neighbourhood for those in need, including residents fasting during the holy month of Ramadan which starts tonight.
Thanks for your kind words and encouragement about our efforts and I’m really excited about having you on board to help us deliver food within the locality.
The Hedgecock Community Centre Foodbank will continue to operate during Ramadan and whilst lockdown is in effect.
We will continue afterwards as initially planned but our delivery strategy will be modified.
The Foodbank was planned to start during the summer but we have bought matters drastically forward to support our communities during the Coronavirus and lockdown crisis.
We thank everyone for the support, guidance, goodwill and donations.
