The Corona Chronicles - Are you connecting?

Busy lunch and evening for volunteers today.

Thanks to friends and family who have paid for goods we are able to reach the vulnerable, many who are simply terrified and stuck at home.

I’m finding as the days go by people’s anxiety and mental health levels are reaching unprecedented levels like never before, with a mixture of the Coronavirus, isolation, distancing and quarantine creating a ‘perfect storm!’ This is being manifested right in front of my eyes through some of the volunteering I do.

The human spirit is strong and I am more than hopeful that we will join ranks to bring light to this darkness.

In the meantime we are so fortunate to have the use of technology so please do the simplest thing and use this power to FaceTime, connect and communicate with each other.

Today we delivered 17 food packs and two medicine drops.

The coalition of the Hedgecock Community Centre Foodbank, East End Covid-19 Support Network, Island Seniors and the One Third Soup Kitchen are services by the community, for the community.

Ironically, we’re ok for money and have open locked off space to work from but we are struggling for supplies.

I will be putting out an appeal with a difference soon. We are requesting food donations but will be reimbursing donors.

You know the drill by now!

Please connect with me if you need any assistance.

We will arrange something 🙂
