The Corona Chronicles - The Humdum effect!

It was really nice having a nice lunch catch up with food network comrades at Humdum UK.

A nice cuppa and two yum yums from Nighat ensured I really had the energy required to cycle to the Ryedale Centre to deliver food and essentials on behalf of #hccfoodbank and #onethirdsoupkitchen

There’s been a shooting on my next road today and the surrounding roads are closed. It didn’t affect me much as I was cycling to visit the local Ryedale Centre, Barking for the first time where housing and a 34 bed space facility has been provided for rough sleepers to help them self-isolate during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The accommodation gives homeless friends access to their own room, a kitchen space, and an in-house catering service provides three meals a day.

Results are a combined effort of Redbridge Council along with Single Homeless Project (SHP), Welcome Centre and other partners.

There were 24 individuals provided with accommodation after a team of the Redbridge Council’s outreach workers encouraged those in need on the streets, to take advantage of the new facilities.

Thank you Nighat for rustling up the magic! The treats went down a treat!
